7. Other features of GAC-16M

(1) Easy monitoring and control from the wheel house or control room Its ability to interface easily 'with LANs and to use serial interfaces(RS-232C and RS-422) makes monitoring and controlling easier. The GAC-)16M can be integrated into our TERANET32 and it operates in a multi-vendor environment. You can combine the GAC-16M with our Watch-Free system to establish an integrated engine control system.
(2) Logging events during power generating plant operation
Every time one of the generating plants stops, the cause of the halt is automatically logged. In addition, major events during operation are also logged make it easier to perform maintenance and servicing. (This feature is available as an opition.)
(3) The LCD shows total operating hours
The LCD on the GAC-16MC shows the total operating hours for each power
generating plant and the number of times the air circuit breaker has operated to make it easy to plan a maintenance schedule.

8. Conclusion

Since crew with various nationalities have increasingly been employed in automated ships (MOA, M&B, MO・C) and super-automated ship (pioneer ships) as well, the work load on technical and maintenance personnel is becoming heavier.
The automation equipment in theses ships should be easy to operate and superior in operational reliability. The GAC-16M system will meet such needs positively.
We at Terasaki will continue in making every effort to create new products which fulfill the needs of the time and are useful for users.
